Valve Actuator Mounting Bracket & Coupler — ISO 5211, 304 Stainless
A 304 stainless mounting bracket and coupler — the ISO 5211 kit that carries an actuator above the valve and passes torque down to the stem. Machined to your valve and actuator combination, and available taller to stand the actuator off a hot line.
The bracket holds it. The coupler turns it.
A mounting bracket carries the actuator; a coupler carries the torque. The bracket bolts to the valve's ISO 5211 pad and holds the actuator square above the stem, and the coupler — a machined 304 stainless drive piece — takes the actuator's output and turns the stem with it. Get either one wrong and the assembly binds, wears the stem flats, or simply will not line up.
Both parts are 304 stainless steel, so the kit lives outdoors and in washdown areas as happily as the valve it sits on.
Made to your valve and your actuator There is no universal coupler. The bore, the flats and the height all follow the specific valve stem on one side and the specific actuator drive on the other, which is why the linkage is machined per combination rather than picked off a shelf. Tell us the valve model and size and the actuator model, and the kit arrives ready to bolt on — bracket, coupler and fasteners together.
Standing the actuator off a hot line On hot service the bracket does a second job: it sets the actuator back from the valve so heat travelling up the stem has somewhere to go before it reaches the actuator's seals and electronics. A taller bracket is the usual answer when the line runs hot and the actuator is rated well below it.
ISO 5211 — what it does and does not fix ISO 5211 standardises the mounting pad on the valve: bolt circle, thread size, and the pad face the bracket sits on. It says nothing about how far the actuator sits above the stem, or what the stem's drive shape is. That is the part the bracket and coupler have to solve, and the reason two ISO 5211 parts still need matching.

What does a valve actuator mounting bracket do?
It is the structural bridge between valve and actuator. The bracket bolts to the valve’s ISO 5211 pad and holds the actuator square and rigid above the stem, so the drive stays aligned and the reaction torque goes into the bracket instead of the stem.
Why is the coupler machined per combination?
Because the two ends differ. One end matches the valve stem — its diameter and flats — and the other matches the actuator drive. A coupler that is close but not exact rounds the stem flats over time, so we cut it to the pair you actually have.
What do you need from me to quote a kit?
The valve model and size, and the actuator model. That fixes the ISO 5211 pattern, the stem shape and the drive shape, which is everything the bracket and coupler need.
Can a taller bracket protect the actuator on a hot line?
Yes — that is the standard reason to specify one. Extra height puts distance between the valve and the actuator so heat conducted up the stem dissipates before it reaches seals and electronics.
Is ISO 5211 enough to guarantee a fit?
No. ISO 5211 fixes the pad on the valve — bolt circle and thread size — but not the height the actuator needs or the stem drive shape. Those are what the bracket and coupler are for.
