Male to male ball valve
Male PT thread on both ends, so the valve screws straight into two female ports with no nipple in between. Two-piece 316 stainless body, full port, 1/4″ to 2″, 1000 WOG.
Both ends screw in. Nothing sits in front of them.
The V-2D-MM is a two-piece ball valve with a male thread on both ends. Each end screws straight into a female port: a tank boss, a pump casing, a manifold, or the next fitting in the line. A standard valve is female at both ends and needs a nipple on each side to reach the same two ports. Here the valve goes in on its own, with no adapter fitting in front of either end.
It is a full port ball valve. The bore through the ball matches the pipe size, so the valve does not pinch the line the way a reduced-port valve does. Eight sizes are built: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″ and 2″. The d, L, H and E dimensions for all eight are on the dimension sheet at the top of this page.
The body is CF8M, the cast grade of 316 stainless, and that is the build we hold in stock. 304 (CF8) is made to order. 316 is the one to specify where the line carries chlorides, brine or seawater, since the molybdenum in 316 is what resists pitting. Pressure rating is 1000 WOG. Working temperature is −20°C to 80°C.
Threads are PT (Rc taper) from stock; NPT and PF are made to order. If only one side of your run is equipment and the other is pipe, the male x female V-2D-MF covers that. If both sides are pipe, the female x female V-2C threaded ball valve is the simpler fit.

Where it gets used
Every valve leak tested.
Each unit is checked for leakage before shipment.
What does male x male (M×M) mean on a ball valve?
Both ends are cut with an external (male) thread. Each end screws into a female port on the equipment or into a female fitting. A standard valve is female at both ends and needs a nipple on each side to make the same connection.
Is this a full port ball valve?
Yes. The bore through the ball matches the pipe size, so there is no step down at the valve and none of the extra pressure drop a reduced bore brings. All eight sizes are built full port.
Which thread standards can I get?
PT (Rc taper) is the stock build. NPT and PF are made to order. Tell us which standard your line uses when you send sizes, because the two taper threads are not interchangeable.
What sizes does the V-2D-MM cover?
Eight: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″ and 2″. The dimension sheet lists d, L, H and E for every size in millimetres.
Is it 316 or 304?
316 (CF8M) is the stock build. 304 (CF8) is made to order. 316 is the one to specify where the line sees chlorides, brine or seawater; the molybdenum in 316 is what resists pitting.
Anything to watch when installing a male x male valve?
Three things. Put the PTFE tape or sealant on the male threads only, so nothing gets pushed into the body. When tightening, hold the hex nearest the joint you are making, not the body in the middle. And do not over-tighten: stainless threads can gall, and the sealant does the sealing, not the torque.
