Three-piece ball valve
Threaded, socket weld or butt weld ends on the same 316 body. Back off four bolts and the centre section lifts out — the ends stay in the line.
Same body. Three ways to join it to the pipe.
Three pieces: a centre body between two end caps, held together by four bolts. Isolate the line, back the bolts off, and the centre lifts out with the ball, seats and stem. The end caps stay exactly where they are — which counts for most when they are welded in, because nothing has to be cut out and put back.
Ends come three ways on the same body. Threaded takes PT, NPT or PF and screws onto the pipe. Socket weld has a bored end that the pipe slides into, then a fillet weld goes round the outside. Butt weld squares the valve end against the pipe end for a single joint. PT is the stock thread; NPT and PF are stock too — say which one when you ask for a price.
Eleven sizes: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2-1/2″, 3″ and 4″. Every one is full port, so the bore matches the pipe.
316 the whole way through — A351 CF8M body, caps and ball, A276 Gr.316 stem — with PTFE seats and packing, rated 1000 WOG. The stem is blow-out proof and the lever takes a padlock.

Where it gets used
Every valve leak tested.
Each unit is checked for leakage before shipment.
What is the difference between threaded, socket weld and butt weld ends?
Threaded screws onto the pipe. Socket weld has a bored end the pipe slides into, with a fillet weld round the outside. Butt weld puts the valve end square against the pipe end as one joint. Same valve body in all three.
Why choose a three-piece over a one- or two-piece?
Servicing. The centre body unbolts and comes out while the end caps stay joined to the pipe, so seats and ball can be changed without cutting a welded valve out of the line.
Can I mount an actuator on this valve?
Not directly — V-3A has no mounting pad. The V-3AM build carries an ISO 5211 pad for that.
Which thread standards do you supply?
PT is the stock thread. NPT and PF are stock as well — specify which one when you send the enquiry.
What sizes are available?
Eleven sizes, 1/4″ through 4″, all full port. Threaded, socket weld and butt weld each have their own dimension sheet.
