3 piece butt weld ball valve — extended ends

Product overview

Long ends, so the weld heat never reaches the seals.

Butt weld ends join straight into the pipe — no threads, no gasket, nothing to weep at the joint. The catch is heat: weld too close to the body and the PTFE inside takes it. The ends on this build are extended so the weld sits well away from the seals. If you are looking for a weldable ball valve for stainless line pipe, this is the three-piece version: weld it in fully assembled, no dismantling first.

Ten sizes: 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2-1/2″, 3″ and 4″. The dimension sheet lists pipe O.D. and wall thickness for each one, so you can check it against the pipe you are welding into before you order.

One thing to check before you order: the weld ends are cut for JIS pipe dimensions, Schedule 5S wall only. They will not mate cleanly with Sch 40 or heavier pipe. Send us your pipe standard, size and schedule and we will confirm the fit.

Three-piece body, so the centre section still unbolts for servicing after the ends are welded in. The pipe stays put; only the middle comes out.

FAQ
Why are the weld ends longer than usual?

Welding puts heat into the body. Longer ends move the weld away from the PTFE seals inside, so the seals are not cooked while the valve is being installed.

Which sizes are available?

Ten sizes, 3/8″ through 4″. The dimension sheet gives pipe O.D. and wall thickness for each.

What is the working pressure?

1000 WOG.

Can it still be serviced after welding?

Yes. It is a three-piece body — the centre section unbolts and lifts out while the welded ends stay in the pipe.

Is the bore full port?

Yes, at every size. The bore matches the pipe.

What pipe does it fit?

JIS pipe dimensions, Schedule 5S wall thickness only. It will not mate cleanly with Schedule 40 or heavier pipe without machining a transition. Send us your pipe standard, size and schedule and we will confirm before you order.

Do you make other schedules?

No. Schedule 5S only.

Can I get it in 304 instead of 316?

Yes. 316 (CF8M) is our stock material. 304 (CF8) is made on request — tell us the quantity and sizes when you ask for a quote.

Send a part number, a spec sheet or a photo. We will price it.
