Product overview

Built to hold, built to last.

The V-3NM pairs our high-mount sanitary ball valve with a rack-and-pinion air actuator, double acting or spring return. One assembly, ready to run from your control system: the ISO 5211 high-platform pad takes the actuator directly, with no bracket between valve and actuator to fabricate or align. It ships as a sanitary pneumatic ball valve, sized, mounted and cycle-tested before it leaves our plant.

End connections come two ways on the same body. V-3NM carries Tri-Clamp ferrules, so the valve comes off the line without tools for manual cleaning and inspection between batches. V-3NM-L3 carries extended OD-tube ends for butt welding into the line — the extra length keeps weld heat away from the PTFE seats, so the valve can be welded in without being stripped first.

Eight sizes: 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2-1/2″, 3″ and 4″. Every one is full port with the bore matched to the tube inner diameter, rated 1000 WOG. Body and ball are investment-cast A351 CF8M — the cast form of 316 — with AISI 316 caps, an A276 Gr. 316 stem and PTFE seats, gaskets and packing.

Standard air supply is 4 to 8 bar. Choose double acting, or spring return when the line must land in a defined position on air loss. The three-piece body stays serviceable after installation: unbolt the centre section and the ball, seats and gaskets come out while both ends stay on the line. Prefer a hand lever? The same body ships as the manual sanitary ball valve.

Need the pilot valve as well? Our solenoid valve for pneumatic actuators is NAMUR direct mount, bolts straight onto this actuator, and ships assembled and tested with the valve.

FAQ
Double acting or spring return — which should I pick?

Double acting uses air for both strokes and holds its last position if air is lost. Spring return uses air one way and the springs drive the valve to a preset open or closed position on air failure. If your process needs a defined state after air loss, pick spring return and tell us the fail direction.

Tri-Clamp or weld ends — how do I choose?

Tri-Clamp ferrules open with a clamp, no tools — pick them where the valve comes off the line for cleaning or changeover. The extended OD-tube ends weld permanently into the line, and the extra length keeps weld heat away from the PTFE seats.

Can I add a solenoid valve or limit switch box?

Yes. Solenoid valves, limit switch boxes and positioners are fitted at assembly. State the accessories and your air supply when you request a quote — standard supply is 4 to 8 bar.

Which sizes are available?

Eight sizes: 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2-1/2″, 3″ and 4″ — every one full port, with the bore matched to the tube inner diameter.

Is there a manual version of this valve?

Yes — the same three-piece sanitary body ships with a locking lever as the V-3N (Tri-Clamp) and V-3N-L3 (extended weld). See the Tri-Clamp sanitary ball valve page for the manual build.
